Log cabins are part of a visitor attraction located in Lancashire that is based on a country and western theme, it has been pointed out.

Writing in the Guardian, Irma Heger noted she recently took her two daughters to the area to see what it has to offer.

Established 25 years ago when the line dancing craze was at its height, the facility is a family-run “honky-tonk”, which is the phrase used to describe an American-style drinking and dancing den.

As well as the log cabins, there are wagon wheels, bulls’ head trophies, paintings of country singers such as Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson and plenty of American flags on display.

Indeed, Ms Heger described the place as a “veritable wild west wonderland”.

Commenting on one of the things she witnessed while staying at the attraction, she added: “It’s not every day you see a Native American, complete with feather headdress, step out of a giant Chevrolet 4×4 in Lancashire.

“The car in question bears his picture, larger-than-life and rising from flames painted on the bonnet. His moccasins silently carry him past a group of cowboys into a log-clad saloon.”

Those staying in log cabins or other accommodation in the area can also see music in the theme of the American west. Indeed, country bands perform every weekend and, according to Ms Heger, they attract aficionados from all around the UK.

Also, on Sundays, the visitor hub is open during the day and is free.

Meanwhile, for nature lovers, there are plenty of walks in the surrounding area and the attraction is surrounded by trees.
